Suzuki ACross Yoru unveiled; India getting Toyota RAV4 in 2021
Suzuki launched the ACross plug-in hybrid in Italy together with a Yoru edition. Here's what the Suzuki ACross Yoru Edition is all about.
The Suzuki Across Web Edition is available exclusively from the Suzuki web shop and is limited to 12 pieces. Yoru is a Japanese term for night and its elegance, which this limited ACross represents with its special appearance. The roof and mirror caps are painted in silver to contrast with the body paint, which has three options: white, black and blue.
The Suzuki ACross Yoru has exclusive 19-inch alloy wheels in glossy black that match the color of its wheel arches and roof racks. The interior is no different from the regular Suzuki ACross. The price for this plug-in hybrid electric car, which is only available online, is EUR 47,900 or INR 41 lakh (INR 41.06,159.17).
The Suzuki Across has started to reach dealer showrooms in Europe. Current pictures from Norwegian dealers show the plug-in hybrid electric SUV, which is available for test drives. Deliveries in Norway are scheduled to begin this month.

The Suzuki ACross is only available in Norway in a GLX variant at a price of NOK 5,49,900 (INR 44.95 lakh). Suzuki is offering a First Edition package worth NOK 45,000 (INR 3.67 lakh) to offer attractive savings to first-time customers. The First Edition package includes 19-inch alloy wheels, black roof rails, gesture tailgate, darkened windows, electric 8-way driver's seat, heated steering wheel and rear seats, as well as electric parking brake.
The Suzuki ACross is essentially a fifth generation Toyota RAV4 with a unique front end. Interestingly, the Suzuki-badged SUV's headlights are similar to those of the Toyota Wildlander, the fifth-generation Toyota RAV4-only version. Below is a visual comparison of the Toyota RAV4 and Suzuki ACross.

Suzuki made significant changes to the Toyota’s fairing, but that's where the differences end as there are no obvious changes to the side, rear and interior. At the front there is a large open grille and new LED headlights with a two-beam projector and LED daytime running lights for a sporty look. The ACross is hoisted on 19-inch wheels and is available in 6 colors: Sensual Red Mica, Attitude Black Mica, White Pearl Crystal Shine, gray metallic, dark blue mica and silver metallic.
The interior environment, according to Suzuki, should create driving safety, comfort and luxury. Soft upholstery in the door panels and in the dashboard, a 9-inch touchscreen that is compatible with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink provide additional functions. The car has a trunk of 490 liters and has a socket and a socket for charging smartphones. Practical storage spaces in the car include side pans on both sides of the car, center tray, console box and cup holder.

Although Toyota sells the petrol-powered RAV4, it's only the plug-in hybrid with a CO2 rating of 22g / km that is new to Suzuki. This would help Suzuki reduce its average CO2 emissions, meet the EU target and avoid fines. Suzuki has a lower CO2 emissions target compared to other automakers in the region as sales are less than 3,000,000 cars a year and the company is achieving its goal with the mild hybrid technology for existing vehicles and Suzuki's strong hybrids at the upper end of the region includes reach. In addition to the ACross, the fleet is strengthened with the Suzuki Swace (an overhauled Toyota Corolla car).
The front and rear electric motors are combined with a 2.5-liter petrol engine 'A25A-FXS Dynamic Force', which is designed for 136 kW and 270 Nm. With a maximum output of 134 kW and a torque of 270 Nm, the powerful front electric motor is connected to a lithium-ion battery with 18.1 kWh (50.9 Ah) mounted under the floor. The rear engine has an output of 40 kW and 121 Nm.
The plug-in hybrid system has 4 modes: the standard EV mode, the auto EV / HV mode, the HV mode and the battery charging mode, which the driver can select based on the external conditions and the battery state of charge. In EV mode, the vehicle is completely powered by the electric motor up to an impressive range of ...
