CFMoto 1250 TR-G | Motoroids
This year, important automotive events such as EICMA and Intermot were canceled. The focus was now on the China International Motorcycle Trade Expo (CIMA). Benelli is stealing all the headlines but there is another Chinese player who joined the party and stole all the spotlight for a moment. CFMoto makes another big leap into the big leagues with its new 1250TR-G Tourer. It is the civil version of the CFMoto CF1250J that was developed for the Chinese police force.
Engine and power
It is the most powerful production bike from China to date and a machine that strengthens the growing relationship between CFMoto and KTM. CFMoto didn't build it from scratch as it borrows the LC8 V-twin engine from the KTM 1290 SuperDuke.

Its 1,279 cm3 engine is sufficient for 140 hp and 120 Nm of peak torque. These numbers bring this CFMoto very close to the BMW R 1250 RT, which makes 134 hp. The CFMoto 1250TR-G Tourer regards the BMW R 1250 RT as its main competitor and given the specs, the Chinese Grand Tourer sounds impressive, at least on paper. It's a touring machine built to eat highway miles while comfortably cocooning the driver. The front end is huge and is highlighted by LED headlights. The bodywork is quite bulky and it will be a bit of a pain to move around in a tight space.
Other specifications
The main argument for the CFMoto 1250TR-G is not only its motor, but also many functions. The bike's TFT instrument display is the largest ever seen on a motorcycle. It is packed with features that include built-in Bluetooth multimedia and navigation, as well as the driving modes and electronic suspension settings courtesy of WP. The braking tasks are carried out by Brembo radial brake calipers, which are operated via a Bosch ABS system. There is also a built-in sound system from JBL! Other tour-oriented extras include an electrically adjustable screen, heated bars and heated seats.

The CFMoto 1250TR-G is expected to go into series production in the first half of 2021. There is not a word about its introduction in other markets besides China. The fit and finish of this motorcycle look good, at least in pictures, for example.
Benelli 1200GT
Benelli recently talked about Chinese Grand Tourers and recently unveiled the Benelli 1200GT in all of its glory. The most interesting feature of the new bike is the 1,200cc liquid-cooled engine, which is actually a borrowed and enlarged version of the Benelli 1,130cc in-line triple previously used in the Tornado and Tre-K motorcycles . The new engine can generate a massive 134 hp and 120 Nm of torque. The bike is equipped with an inverted fork, a hydraulic clutch, a set of Brembo brakes, a push-start ignition, heated handles and saddle, and electronically adjustable mirrors. Specs and features might sound a little similar, but the Benelli looks a little dated and the quality of the materials used in the 1200GT isn't what you would call "premium".
