Could the 2021 Nissan Qashqai e-Power use a 1.5T petrol engine?
The 2021 Nissan Qashqai e-Power could use a 1.5-liter turbo gasoline engine. According to a new report by new.qq.com, one of Nissan's Chinese suppliers, is developing an e-power version of its upcoming KH5T engine.
Earlier reports said the KH5T is a 1.5-liter turbo gasoline engine and Nissan's Chinese supplier Zhanjiang Deli Vehicle Parts Co., Ltd is involved in its development. The next-generation E-Power system with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with turbocharger would mean far more power and torque than the current E-Power system with the 1.2-liter gasoline engine HR12DE with a naturally aspirated engine. The 2021 Nissan Qashqai (2022 Nissan Rogue Sport) should be a competitor to the series' brand new hybrid powertrain with impressive system performance.
Confirmation of e-Power for the 2021 Nissan Qashqai was reported by AutoExpress.co.ukbased on an interaction with Ashwani Gupta, COO, Nissan. "Qashqai will come to Europe with e-Power - it is one of our core technologies," Gupta told the UK publication at the unveiling of the Nissan Ariya. “In Europe we will have e-power and battery electric vehicles - this is where we define our technologies,” he added.
The e-Power, introduced in the Mk2 Nissan Note in 2016, is classified as a series hybrid powertrain. The Nissan Serena and Nissan Kicks (global) have also adopted that alternative energy powertrain, and the Nissan Qashqai will be next. ONE Nissan Sylphy e-Power and X-Trail e-Power are to follow in 2021.
In short, e-Power technology uses an internal combustion engine as a generator. The ICE feeds a small battery, which in turn drives an electric motor that is responsible for driving the wheels. As opposed to a parallel hybrid electric vehicle, let's say a Toyota Camry HybridFor example, a series hybrid electric vehicle offers a comprehensive EV driving experience.
According to Nissan, e-Power delivers enormous torque almost instantly, works very quietly and consumes fuel that is comparable to a parallel hybrid electric drive. The company also takes advantage of its proprietary e-pedal single-pedal drive functionality in e-power vehicles.
We may also see a Nissan Juke e-Power in the years to come. This was demonstrated by Ivan Espinosa, Senior Vice President - Global Product Planning and Program Management at Nissan. That's not all, Espinosa suggested that the smaller Nissan Juke could eventually introduce an all-electric powertrain. "The Juke could be 100 percent electric in the future - why not," he said.
2021 Nissan Qashqai shortly before its release
In August, Nissan was spotted testing the 2021 Nissan Qashqai in its production body on public roads. Spy tapes published in various international publications reveal an evolutionary design for the all-new compact SUV. A familiar silhouette, new inline LED headlights and a new grille with a larger opening and chrome trim on the outer edges in the same style as the latest Nissan Juke and the 2021 Nissan Rogue (2021 Nissan X-Trail) can be seen in the spy pictures. We'll learn more about the design, features and other aspects of the upcoming compact SUV in the coming weeks.
2021 Nissan Qashqai for India?
Nissan rated the previous generation Qashqai for India but pulled back after initial interest. The current generation model never made it to India, and neither had Nissan renewed the X-Trail after discontinuing its premium SUV over 6 years ago. Seeing a number of failed attempts to restart sales on products like the Nissan Kicks, the new Datsun Go & Go +, and others did not help the prospects for Nissan's premium vehicles. The future of the Yokohama-based brand depends on the acceptance of the Nissan Magnite. If the under 4m SUV can recruit customers to Nissan dealerships, then this is a good argument for exploring larger SUVs.
