Suzuki Will Launch an All-New Two-Wheeler on 7th October

Suzuki Motorcycle India is preparing a revised MotoGP edition of the Gixxer SF series for India. The Japanese bikemaker teases the same thing with its social media handles, but there's one more teaser that deserves the headlines. Suzuki has announced that it will launch a new two-wheeler on October 7, 2020. The teaser doesn't reveal much, but a distinctive silhouette of an instrument cluster is clearly visible. The picture is accompanied by a text that reads: "Introduction of a superior driving style".

What could it be?

Apart from the cryptic text and the silhouette of the instrument cluster, Suzuki has not revealed anything else. It leaves us with our own speculations and rumors.

Another 155cc offer?

It looks like the instrument cluster bears a remarkable resemblance to that on Gixxer and Intruder motorcycles. Suzuki's 155cc platform currently consists of the Gixxer Naked, Gixxer SF and the Intruder 155. This teaser could mean that Suzuki may bring out another bike on the same platform. Our hearts want an ADV tourer, but only time will tell what Suzuki has in store for us. The BS6 Gixxer 155 are powered by an air-cooled 155 cc four-stroke single cylinder SOHC engine with fuel injection and SEP technology.

It generates 13.6 ps at 8000 rpm and 13.8 Nm at 6000 rpm. Those numbers have dropped from 14.1 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and 14 Nm at 6,000 rpm for the motorcycle's BS4 engine. Although the updated engine in the BS6 state promises better fuel economy.

Or intruder 250?

A few months ago, the Intruder 250 patent pictures leaked online and given that the Gixxer and Gixxer SF are already in the 250 space, maybe it is time for the Intruder to join the party as well. Cruisers are the order of the day and the fact that some new cruiser motorcycles are set to hit the market in the months ahead could look forward to disrupting the party. Royal Enfield comes up with the Meteor 350, and Honda is strapped to launch a cruiser too. When it becomes a reality, the Intruder 250 will draw power from a 249cc single-cylinder, fuel-injected SOHC engine that develops 26.5 horsepower and 9,300 rpm while torque is 22.2 Nm. This engine is equipped with a six-speed gearbox.

Some reports also suggest that Suzuki may launch another gearless scooter based on its 125cc platform, which currently includes the Access 125 and Burgman 125. Both scooters are powered by a 4-stroke single-cylinder 124 cc engine made of aluminum. Supported by Suzuki Eco Performance Technology, the fuel-injected BS6 engine delivers 8.7 hp at 6750 rpm and 10 Nm at 5500 rpm.

As already mentioned, Suzuki Motorcycle India is preparing a revised MotoGP edition of the Gixxer SF range for India. The Gixxer SF twins wear a paint job that is similar to the MotoGP machine in their work - the GSX-RR - and take part in the celebrations for the company's 100th anniversary. Expect the MotoGP edition to be wrapped in a combination of blue and silver for the 100th anniversary of the Gixxer SF, with the tank and belly areas sprayed blue while the center section with the bikemaker's name painted in silver. The current Suzuki MotoGP machine is often referred to as the most stylish motorcycle on the grid this season.
